Catching up with the Mixes

Hi everyone!
Just a little catch up on our week!
Sunday was Mike's free day and we took a drive up past the worksite to look for a ski slope and restaurant that are supposed to be up there. We took Barney of course! Well, we never found the ski slope but saw some beautiful country and lots of people out enjoying the day picnicing and sitting out by the creeks/ river. Mike got excited about this river we followed along because it really looks good for rafting or canoeing! We had a little picnic...read our books...hiked a bit..but it was really hot that day. We get a kick out of the Romanians they wear their swimming suits or just their underwear and get out in the cold creeks! We got back early enough for Mike to take me to the Japanese restaurant for sushi to celebrate my birthday since he was afraid he would be to busy on Tuesday.....turns out we ate out that night too at a little Italian place we just discovered right down the road from us!
Monday night Don Marshall and his wife Dannie spent the night with us. Don has been Mike's boss/mentor ever since Boston! They live in London and have been there 14 years now! (He left Boston before Mike!) Anyway we took them out to a little Hungarian restaurant up in one of the villages near the job. It was a rainy night.
When we got home....we were just getting ready to go up to bed and a bat came swooping down through the living room right over our heads! So we all sprung into action. Dannie and I went and hid in the kitchen! Don and MIke tried to steer it toward a window. You haven't seen our house but it is open all the way up to the 3rd floor and that things was just swooping around! Mike finally knocked it down with a broom and pushed it out the front door......it wasn't there in the morning. so we're hoping it was just stunned and flew off! Poor thing! So that made their stay a memorable one!!!!!!
I am going to Bucharest today and another Bechtel wife and friend Janice is going along. We'll have a driver. The company has to take a car down to Bucharest and exchange it for a 4 wheel drive for a new employee. So a 6 or 7 hour drive today. We'll stay tonight and tomorrow night and come back on Saturday. Since Sunday it has been cloudy, a little rainy and cool. Long sleeves feel good! Must get some things packed. Mike flew out for meetings in Bucharest early this morning and I am leaving via car at 9:30......
Love to all!
