Greetings everyone! It was just great being together with each of you for the weekend at Sunrise Beach! Thanks Mike and Jan for accomodating us! We were a little weary, but are getting back in our routine!
The day we got home, I was out in the driveway, cleaning out the car, and Pepe (faithful black lab) was right alongside me, and looked up. So, I looked up to see what caught her attention, and it was a bald eagle! Flying low, right over our driveway-I couldn't believe it! It was grand, had a huge wingspan, and it's white tailfeathers and white head were just so brilliant! It gracefully flew down east to the timber near the creek, and I wonder if it's wintering there. I had just read an article about where they spend the winters, but I just figured we would have to go to Squaw Creek Refuge to see one! Of course, no camera on me, but a vivid memory of the sighting, nonetheless!
We have had a really busy three days of work this week! It's amazing how much money trades hands in the farming community at the end of the year, and right after the First-everybody's juggling the income and expenses to try and outwit Uncle Sam! Sure makes the workdays sail by!
We had 1.5" of rain over the weekend. Dennis has been cutting sprouting trees around, and helped a friend load cattle for the St. Joe auction yesterday.
It's quiet around here this week, after having the little ones with us for a week! Delaney had a touch of the stomach flu last night, but is better today. Regina is off all week, but Joel and Olivia are back in school.
Not much other news from us, just hoping everyone's new year has started off good! Take Care,
Barb
