From the Farm

Hi Everybody! I hope all is well with each of you! Been thinking of Shannon today on her birthday! Need to call her!

I was supposed to work yesterday, but got asked to play for a funeral at our church, so I traded and will work next Saturday instead. Dennis went to the field after the funeral, found some dry corn to harvest. The elevator wasn't open today, so he just filled his trucks and quit!

We piddled in the yard today, planted a mum by the mailbox, planted a tree, stuff like that! I got my tree and mum at Grimm's Gardens. I had been wanting a catalpa tree, and Grimm's propagated from a tree in Hiawatha, so my tree is called Catalpa Hiawatha!! They bloom white, and have long beans on them in the fall! They are supposed to be fast growing, too. I did go fishing today, and found some hungry bass, and one crappie. I thought they were worthy of a picture on the blog-they're the biggest I've caught this summer! Probably don't compare to dad's fish! But nonetheless, it was pretty fun! Not much else exciting around here.

Had a chat with Jereme this evening. This week is Homecoming at Hiawatha. He plays the big white sousaphone in the marching band! We saw him when Sabetha played over there last week!

Not much else going on around here! Keep in touch! And Love to All!!

I'm impressed with your fish! Have you guys eaten them already? Wish we could have fished more this summer! Love you guys,
