A White Christmas!

I broke down and bought our first artificial Christmas tree this year! With the power going out on December 11, we thought it would be hard to find a nice green cedar tree! I'm not sure I like the fake one, but we're kinda gettin' used to it! When the generator is running, the lights are lit! We never got any lights put up outside, and I guess it's just as well! We are in day twelve of no power!

And today, well, more weather for us! A blinding snow storm blew through here! It was crazily blowing snow in every direction! I don't think we could measure it! But I would say several inches anyway...

And afterwards, this is what we saw:

a beautiful sunset!

I am trying to get my house organized. We are still without "real" electricity, but are generating our own and doing fine... I am going to hang some clothes in the basement I washed this morning and run the vacuum. (It's been awhile!)

Regina and Joel met us on Hwy. 75 at Sac and Fox last night and dropped off the cat! They were headed to Topeka, one day early, trying to get ahead of the weather. They will be back here Monday night, and come to Steve's on Tuesday.

Ben and Amanda got power last evening, and had us up for supper! Dennis and I worked on our Christmas cards till around 11pm, and I was glad to get those mailed today. I also worked this morning even though I wasn't scheduled. We are planning to close at noon on Monday, and I got a head-start on Monday's work.

Can't wait to get together on Christmas with all of you! Amanda is going to let me bake my rolls at her house Christmas morning, so I will bring plenty to the dinner! Regina is bringing corn, and Amanda is bringing a dessert. I wonder if I should bring a salad, hmmmm. I can't remember what all Steve told me to bring! Oh well!

Love you all!!! And Merry Christmas if I don't see you!

Barb
