Hi From Omaha...

Hi everyone, hope everyone is having a good week. It's been crazy here! On Tuesday night, Olivia stepped on a sewing needle. It went clear in her foot, with the thread hanging out. She was hysterical and so was I! Joel took her to the ER at Children's Hospital. They gave her some pain medicine then cut her foot and tried to reach in and get the needle. They were unsuccessful so they sent her home around midnight. So on Wednesday, her birthday, she visited the pediatric surgeon and they scheduled her an outpatient surgery time to have it taken care of. It was a very long day and a terrible 7th birthday for her, but she did okay. The needle was actually in 3 pieces and they had to use x-ray several times to help locate them. The surgery was short, but she had a hard time waking up! We got home around 7pm from the hospital. She has 7 stitches in her foot and a little tiny walker to get around. Today, Joel stayed home with her and she had quite a bit of pain, but is starting to get around with her walker. We had planned a pool party tomorrow afternoon with her friends. She won't be able to swim, but hopefully it will still be fun! It's a luau theme. I made a barbie cake with a hula skirt - it turned out pretty cute!!!

The rest of us are doing okay, we are all tired from our rough week. Jillian is growing like a weed, she is such a happy baby. And Delaney is a fireball, too. She has a strange way of showing Olivia she loves her... She was so worried when we took her to the ER, but now she just walks up and pushes her walker or tries to grab her around the waist and tackle her. I don't think she quite understands how to be gentle! :)

Hope all of you are doing well, talk to you soon!
