Hello Everyone!
I hope everyone is doing well! I have been trying to get onto this blog, but for some reason the company blocks it...luckily, one of the Albanian girls I work with (Erkiona) showed me a way to bypass the company's email so we got it working!
I've been working in Albania for a month now! I can't believe how quickly the time is going by! I still feel like I've only been here a few days. I am learning new things every day and am taking on a lot of projects. My title here is Environmental and Health Lead which means that I deal with all the environmental issues as well as help manage the clinic we have on site. It's challenging and I am loving it! The only downside is that we work 77 hour weeks and only get 2 days off each month. We are also in a very remote location up in the mountains. It takes an hour to get to the nearest town (which isn't much of a town at all) and 2 and a half hours to get to the nearest decent city. At times we feel very isolated and trapped....but since we work so much we don't have much time to think about it!

Here are some pictures of my camp!
This is the main office (Right).
This little container is my office. (Below).
Here is my favorite bridge on the project!
This is the 10km tunnel.

And of course the amazing mountains that surround us!
Oh! My supervisor and I decided that it was a great idea to buy a baby pig, fatten him up throughout the winter, and eat him in April or May. We weren't sure where we'd get a pig, but one day while I was out on the project I saw 7 little pigs running around a small village. I decided that I needed to find out who owned those pigs and buy one! I was with a Turkish guy and somehow, using a little Turkish, a little English, and a LOT of sign language, we ended up bringing home "Dave the pig". He is staying on the farm of one of the nurses who works at the clinic here and seems to be happy. Here's a picture of him!

Well, I guess that's all I have for now! I wish I could go to Jillian's birthday party! She looks so cute! And the sunset picture from the farm is beautiful! Have a great weekend everyone!

Oh, Shannon! It is so wonderful to hear from you! We are glad you are doing well (the last we heard was about your wreck...) and glad you're happy in your new job! Will work on this project cease through the winter months? And will you even be there in the spring to show them how to roast 'Dave'?!?!? Thank you for writing, it made our day! Love is sent across the miles to you!!!

Hi Shannon! We miss you, too!!! I can't imagine you can eat your piggy after you named him "Dave"! :) Maybe if you had named him Sausage or something!!!! Love you lots,
Regina and all
