Albania!

Well since I can't logon to facebook at work, I thought I'd share some photos here!
Sunday was supposed to be a working day but at the end of the day Saturday they changed it so Sunday was a day off. Since I hadn't made any plans to go into Tirana, I decided to stick around camp...so I went for a hike! Here are some photos from the hike...enjoy :)
Ohh..this photo below is two days before my hike! It was snowing so hard! And then suddenly it disappeared! This is the scary swinging bridge that I had to walk across to get to the otherside of the rapidly moving river! I almost chickened out and turned back to camp at this point...I'm glad it was sturdy enough to hold me!
Here's a nice view of camp:

The river was looking a little bit orange...kind of an unnatural glowing. Probably from all the copper in these mountains! Back during communism they used prisoners from a nearby prison (Spatch, known for it's torture) to mine the Copper!

Another view of camp...a little higher up!

I grew a little suspicious of this car because it kept stopping at every turn...so I decided it was time to turn around. Turns out, it was a family picking up the tree branches that they had earlier collected by the side of the road. Everyone here collects branches...not sure why...

Back across the swinging bridge...some of the boards looked a little rotten...

This is where I did not want to be...

So good to see your pictures! Thanks for sharing... Kind of a culture shock after Tucson, huh?
