October Update!

My oh my, it's been so long since I've shared with all of you on the blog! I don't know how it got to be November already!!! We love and miss you all and hope you are enjoying fall!

An update on us:

School is keeping everyone busy - Joel is having a great school year. Must smoother than last year, which is a blessing. He and 3 other people from Holland Hall are traveling to Memphis next week to visit 4 other Independent Schools (2 all-girls and 2 co-ed). He will leave Sunday and will be back on Wednesday. We are going to miss him terribly! But Grandma Jane is coming to help out while he is away. I know the girls will enjoy that!

Olivia is having a great time in 4th grade. She is doing taekwando classes, piano lessons, is on the school leadership committee, science club, and is in the middle school musical. So she's a busy little gal. But so far, she's been able to manage her time pretty well. The musical is "Pirates of Penzance" and will be performed in January. We hope some of you can come watch!

Delaney is loving Kindergarten. We just had our parent/teacher conference with Mr. Narlock. He had so many nice things to say about her! It was great! She is reading now and has taken quite a liking to "Junie B. Jones" books. And she LOVES math - she keeps telling Jillian she needs to learn math so she can be smart! She takes taekwando with Joel and Olivia and smiles the whole time!

Jillian - the big 3-year-old in the house is quite a little pistol! She had her 3 year checkup yesterday at the pediatrician. The whole way there she kept saying "But I'm not sick!" It was hard to explain that one to her... She got 2 shots and has been pretty miserable since then. She ran a fever all night and during the day today. And since she refuses to take medicine, we know she was uncomfortable. But I learned you can't force a child to swallow Motrin! I was wearing it last night!!! Anyway, she loves to play school and dress-up with Delaney. They are such good pals. Her checkup was really good - the worst part seemed to be the hearing test, but she passed!

I am enjoying my school year so much - for the most part my classes are great. Very few behavior problems, which is nice. Today was a little crazy, but I have a theory about Halloween candy being involved in that! :) "Baby frother" as Jillian calls him is growing nicely. So far, so good! Sunday was the 1 year anniversary of Joel's dad's death so we think he may have had something to do with this little boy coming along!

Well, my update is WAY too long, I know! We are thinking of you all!!! I have been trying to upload more photos but keep getting an error. I will try again later!!!

I feel bad- I could not remember what day John passed away. Tell Joel we are thinking of him!
