I am bored at work and thought I would blog to pass some time. I am getting pretty settled into my apartment. Hopefully Sunday I will be getting my living room furniture (from Brian's family)which consists of a couch, lazy-boy, and 2 end tables with lamps. Then hopefully the following weekend I will get my Dining room set and coffee table from Linda and Robin (I have to go paint some chairs first). I am also getting a really cool Bakers Rack from Linda that I can display my Bulgarian pottery on---VERY exciting. Then in September I lose all my living room furniture because it will go to Brian's brother Craig and I will inherit some different things from the Bleys- CRAZY! I would buy my own things, except I plan on moving soon- by next July- and I don't want to have to move all the furniture with me! I am planning on going to either AZ or CO, we'll see what happens.
I am starting to get very excited about starting real nursing work. I am going to be working a combination of 8-12 hour day shifts (either 7a-3p or 7a-7p) or evening shifts (3p-11p). When I work weekends I will only work 12 hour shifts and I will rotate day/nights (7a-7p or 7p-7a). This way I only have to work every third weekend instead of every other. I am excited and they are in the process of installing a new paging system for me because the cardiac arrest alarm was too high for me to hear, so now I will have a vibrating pager for all alarms...pretty neat!
July 28-30 I am going to see Brian in Georgia. I am so excited. We have a hotel room on the beach with a patio off our room :) I am so excited to see him. I miss him so much, but honestly it doesn't seem that bad- we talk every day sometimes two or three times a day. I miss the hugs and closeness of having him here though. I am so happy for him, I know this is an exciting time getting ready to start the career he has dreamed of for forever!
An exciting thing happened last weekend when I went to see Linda and "shop" in her house. She has two cats and I wasn't allergic! They are short haired cats and it really wasn't that bad. I don't know if it was just a freak thing or not, so I'm going to go back over there and let the cats crawl all over me and see if I have a reaction. If I don't I'm going to try to get a cat. I need someone to welcome me home after a day at work and someone to cuddle up with me when I watch tv. I have been looking at the MA Animal Shelters to see what is available- I think I want to get an older cat that is less likely to be adopted. An older cat won't need someone around constantly and will be a little less rambunctious!
Well, I am going to go for now, but that's a little update into the life of Casey! Hope all is well with you! Feel free to come visit in Boston if you want.

Hi Casey!!! Your furniture adventures sound exciting, but that's a lot of moving! Hope you can find a cat to keep you company. Our cat, Sophie, has become a part of the family and we don't remember life without her! Love you lots, talk to you soon.

I want to come visit...
We kind of miss the kitties that we have babysat recently:Bailey and Sophie. And Mel is so different now that they are gone! AZ sounds interesting, the Scottsdale area was beautiful when Ben played there! But CO would be my choice:) Love ya lots (and ask Amanda for some pointers on your bedside manner:)

Oh Caey! Life sounds so exciting there! Meg told us you may have found her a job there. We're anxious to hear more about that if it happens. She called the other day so excited about that and the classes she will be taking next fall. She had a ton of mail from Emerson when she got back.
That's interesting about the cat....hope it works out! Maybe with a bath once a month you'll be ok....a bath for the cat that is:) !! When can I catch you on the chat? I'll have to look at your schedule...I love you! MOM
